Green Dragons Win Coppell Tourney

The Southlake 9U Green Dragons baseball team recently won the Coppell AA Tournament, going undefeated in the competition and defeating the North Arlington Yankees by a score of 8-6 in the tournament championship.

White Dragons Win Super Series

The 8U Southlake White Dragons won the Super Series Texas State Tournament Championship on June 14-15 in Flower Mound.

According to a news release, the "White Dragons defeated the Flower Mound Warriors in the Championship game to go 5-0 in the tournament."

With the tournament victory against the Warriors, the Dragons have qualified for the National Championship Tournament later this summer.

Team members include Marcus Hill, Hank Bockenfeld, Evan Guillory, Jake Murphy, Tristan Williams, Matt Nuese, Cole Johnson, Nik Millsap, Matthew Werner and Adam Stephenson.

The 8U White Dragons are coached by Ken Hill, Torin Johnson, Todd Bockenfeld, Doug Stephenson, and Brian Williams.

Mustangs Wrap Up Strong Season

The Mustangs 13U AA baseball team was the NTI champion for the 2008 season, finishing 14-5 overall on the year and averaging over 10 runs a game throughout the season.

The Grapevine team had a 10-game winning streak along the way, and according to a news release, "nine of the 11 players contributed on the pitching mound, and five team members are capable catchers behind the plate. Some of their nicknames — Wheels, Hollywood, Pork Chop, Rhino and Ice—give a hint of the versatility and talent on this Mustangs team."

Team members include Jacob Andrews, Shane Cornwell, Dustin Easterling, Seth Gillitzer, Eric Gollhofer, Boomer Harmon, Caleb Hough, Jerrod Huff, Ryan Husman, Matthew Odneal and Nick Woychick.

Head coach Tom Husman, and assistant coaches Willy Harmon, John Huff and Curt Odneal coach the team.

Colleyville Twins Qualify for Beach Volleyball Nationals

Sydney and Kiersten Braasch recently won the 14-year-old division at the North Texas Region Junior Beach Volleyball tournament and have qualified to participate in the National Junior Beach Volleyball tournament in Manhattan Beach, Calif., later this summer.

The Braasch sisters will be freshmen at Grapevine High School this fall and play for the club team 692.
