Dear Editor:

I know I’m of an older generation when I read about students cheating in AP courses with little consequence and drivers complaining about being greeted impolitely when breaking traffic laws. There were honor systems in place both in college and Air Force officer training [the latter teaching manners, as well]: If you cheated or lied or stole anything, you were sent home for good. Justice today surely lies somewhere between expulsion and not being allowed to wear an Honor Society shirt. At the least, have them wear a Dishonor Society shirt (and, “I’m With Stupid/I’m Stupid” shirts for the errant drivers). I’m starting to sound like my 1950s dad — Kids today!
